More than 250 pupils did their schools proud at the Mini World Cup, held in Gillingham.
Supported by the Medway Messenger in association with Plumb-Fix, the 2010 Mini World Cup attracted a record 46 schools.
Guests on the day included Mayor of Medway Cllr David Brake, MP for Chatham and Aylesford Tracey Crouch (Con) and Medway Messenger editor Bob Bounds, who all spoke at the launch of the competition.
The day began with a parade of nations, with each of the teams making their way around the two central pitches with hand-made posters, flags and even mascots and cheerleaders.
All 46 schools were matched with a country to represent, meaning every one of the World Cup finalist was represented along with the play-off losers who almost made it and the home nations.
At the end of the day, Gillingham right-back Jack Payne handed out awards to some of the schools’ top performers.
There were also awards for fair play and trophies for the winners of the three competitions, the main Medway Mini World Cup, the Mini World Trophy and the Mini World Shield.
St Margaret’s, in Orchard Street, Gillingham, as Holland, won the main competition, beating Slovenia, represented by Hilltop Primary School, of Rochester, in the final by a single goal.
There are two pages of pictures in Monday's Medway Messenger and we will have a 12-page special in Friday's paper - don't miss it.
