Around 170 residents in the Halling area have been left without power for more than eight hours.

A fault on an underground cable cut electricity to homes at around 1.37pm.

UK Power Networks confirmed supplies were not expected to be restored until up to 11pm.

A spokesman apologised for the fault, saying: “Our engineers are working hard to fix it as quickly as possible.”
