Adam Dingsdale will be hitting training hard after being handed an unexpected boost.
The unbeaten Hoo lightweight boxer is on the undercard of James DeGale’s European bantamweight title fight on Saturday, October 13.
The show takes place at Bluewater Shopping Centre’s Glow venue and the main fight will be broadcast live on Channel 5.
It leaves Dingsdale (pictured) with little time to prepare but it was an opportunity too good to turn down.
With four professional wins from four bouts, he said: "I got a call from my manager and he asked me if I wanted to think it over. I didn’t need to think about it.
"It’s a big opportunity on a high-profile event and I’m buzzing that my name is going to be up there alongside these others.
"I don’t know who I’m going to be up against but I’ll be ready for whoever I face."
Dingsdale’s four previous fights have all been outside the county and he’s thrilled to be getting the opportunity to box closer to home.
"It doesn’t get more closer than Bluewater and I can’t wait," said the 24-year-old.
