Police have been called in after a child had urine thrown over him by a hooded stranger as he walked to school.

It is believed to have happened in Carnation Road, near Strood Academy, this morning.

The boy's mother, Sherri Earl, took to Facebook to warn other parents to be vigilant following the incident.

She wrote: "For children who go to Strood Acdamey – parents please tell your children to be careful and vigilant when walking to and from school.

"My youngest son was walking to school this morning and he was up the top of Carnation Road when a person in a hoodie came out from the alley and threw/poured liquid all over my son and then ran away.

"My son didn’t get the chance to have a look at this person as they came from behind him, and it happened so quickly.

"Luckily the liquid was nothing harmful this time – by the smell off it, it's human urine.

"Please be careful peeps."

Police spokesman Richard Spillet said: "Police were called at 12.30pm over reports a liquid had been thrown at a boy in Carnation Road, Strood, this morning.

"The boy was not injured and inquiries are ongoing."
