Father-of-five Paul Scott died four days after being attacked in Gillingham
Hundreds of mourners paid their final respects to a father of five, who died after being involved in an alleged brawl.
Paul Scott’s funeral took place today at St Mary Magdalene Church, Gillingham Green.
The 43-year-old passed away in February, four days after suffering a broken leg during an incident in Balmoral Road, Gillingham. He had suffered a blood clot.
Mr Scott, 43, lived in Franklin Road, Gillingham, with his wife Michelle.
After his death, Mr Scott’s widow Michelle, said: “He was just the best husband in the world and the best dad and granddad. He was everything to me and my family and kids.”
Close family lit candles in memory of Paul and his younger sister Teresa, who passed away several weeks before.
His coffin was draped with the crest of his favourite football’s club Arsenal.
Floral tributes were in red and white.
Robert Alderman, of Canadian Avenue, Gillingham, has been charged with Mr Scott’s murder and is due to appear again at Maidstone Crown Court on Wednesday.
A trial date has been provisionally set for August 5.
