WITH two players unavailable, it's going to be another uphill struggle for the Gillingham-based ice hockey team Invicta Dynamos this weekend. But good news is on the horizon.
Stuart Lowe and Kevin Parrish will not be icing for the games at home to Romford on Saturday and away at Nottingham on Sunday, or for next week's games against Chelmsford and Swindon.
However, a new import signing is imminent as the Mos attempt to get their season back on track and captain Phil Chard returns to the fold.
Player coach Carl Greenhous said: "We have been talking to a couple of imports this week who live in this country and will decide on them before looking towards bringing someone over from North America.
"Unfortunately the necessary paperwork means that person will not be in place for this weekend's action, but we are hopeful they'll be available next week."
Talking of imports, the Mos will come face to face with unsuccessful summer signing Samuli Mykkanen this weekend.
Romford Raiders have taken Mykkanen on a two-week trial contract after the big Finn was released by the Mos a fortnight ago.
Despite stipulation that part of the deal was an agreement that he would not play against the Dynamos, Romford manager Mick Cahill has said: "It's pure coincidence that Sammi's first game will be in Gillingham, but obviously he'll be out to impress.
"He has trained hard with us and his keenness is without question. With Timo Kauhanen likely to miss this weekend and Kelvin Solari and Rob Douglas not quite 100 per cent, I did not want to ice an import short if we could help it."
Mos fans will be disappointed to hear that it will not be Jason Rushton time at the Ice Bowl as the feisty Canadian parted company with Romford three weeks ago and is now icing, although not signed, for Superleague side Bracknell Bees.
With top scorer Rushton and three other influential players doubtful the Mos could not hope to meet Romford at a better time.
Greenhous said: "Romford blow hot and cold and we'll be hoping we get them on an off day. As for Sammi we wish him well and are sorry he did not fit with us, perhaps he will at Romford."
NICCI Brearey was the man of the moment as Invicta Mustangs took sweet revenge and the points against Bracknell Hornets.
His goal won this English National Hockey League game 1-0 for the Medway side who are a feeder team for the Invicta Dynamos.
The victory was sweeter as the Hornets had beaten the Mustangs 9-1 at the start of the season and this win now puts them second in the table after four games played.
