Armed police swooped on a street following reports of a man with a gun.

Firearms officers were called to Wainscott Road, near Rochester after being alerted someone had been seen with a weapon.

They attended the scene shortly after 1.10pm yesterday.

A man in his 30s was arrested following enquiries and patrols also seized an imitation firearm.

The man was later released pending further investigation.
