Man found in his home in Wood Street, Brompton was pronounced dead and police say there are no suspicous circumstances

A man was pronounced dead in his home in Brompton yesterday afternoon (Thursday) and police say his death is not being treated as suspicious.

The 61-year-old man, who has not been named, was discovered by the emergency services shortly after 2.30pm after police were called out to his home in Wood Street.

They had gone there after they received after receiving reports of concern for his welfare.

Ambulance crews and police officers were seen entering his home at 2.35pm, and it is believed resuscitation attempts to save him were unsuccessful and he was later pounced dead at the scene.

Forensic officers were also seen going into the property to carry out investigations later that evening.

It is believed the man may have suffered a head injury as a result of a fall.

A spokeswoman for Kent Police said: “Kent Police was called at 2.35pm on Thursday, May 7.

A 61-year-old man was later pronounced dead at the scene.

“Following a thorough investigation, the death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be duly prepared for the coroner.”
