An inquest into the death of an amateur footballer who died during a match is due to take place today.

David Winslow died at the Black Lion Leisure Centre, in Mill Road, Gillingham, during a five-a-side game on September 22 last year.

David, of Church Street, Rochester, was 26 - he would have celebrated his 27th birthday just two days later.

He was running backwards, preparing to head the ball when he hit his head on the wall.

He was given emergency treatment by people at the match and paramedics rushed to his aid, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
