Following the incident, the area was taped off by police and sheets were put up at the traffic lights to screen off the scene.

On Friday (November 22), area coroner Katrina Hepburn opened an inquest into the death of Luke Elliott at Oakwood House, Maidstone.

She said: “He left an address at 6.15pm and said he was going for a walk.

“He went to the Brook car park and landed on the road below.”

She explained the incident was captured on CCTV and showed “no third-party involvement”.

The medical cause of death for the 36-year-old, of Twydall Lane in Gillingham, was given as a head injury.

The hearing was adjourned until a full inquest on April 18, 2025, at the same venue in Maidstone.
