It was a weekend of changing fortunes for Invicta Dynamos, who suffered their first defeat of the season in ENIHL Division 1 South on Saturday but then rebounded with a victory on Sunday.
On Saturday, Dynamos went down to a 4-2 defeat to Wightlink Raiders on the Isle of Wight.
After a goalless first period, man-of-the-match Liam Chong (pictured) scored twice in the second period to cancel out strikes for the home side by Robbie Brown and Nathan Taylor, but in the final period the Raiders proved the stronger and scored twice more without reply through Damon Larter and Brown.
Dynamos had little time to lick their wounds before playing Oxford City Stars at Gillingham's Silver Blades Ice Bowl, but Kevin Parrish's side showed their character by battling to a 3-2 victory.
Daniel Calitri and Chong gave them a 2-0 lead before Dax Hedges pulled a goal back for Oxford in the first period. The Stars then equalised through Darren Elliott, but Daniel Borges restored Invicta's lead at the end of the second period and they succeeded in keeping out the visitors during the final period.
