Invicta Dynamos head coach Kevin Parrish insists it’s too early to start pressing the panic buttons at the Silver Blades Ice Rink.
Last Sunday’s 6-3 home defeat by the Cardiff Devils was the Dynamos’ third defeat in five matches this season.
Parrish (pictured) said: "I know the fans aren’t happy and that some of them are already baying for blood, including mine.
"But the fact is we’ve only lost one league game and it’s too early to start panicking."
But Parrish accepts that his side’s performances need to improve quickly, starting with this Sunday’s South East Trophy home game against the Wightlink Raiders (5.15pm).
Dynamos have already lost their first two matches in the competition and another defeat will effectively end their interest.
Parrish insisted: "Sunday would be a must-win game whatever the circumstances were because we need a victory not only for the fans but also for ourselves, to get a little bit of confidence going."
Some Dynamos fans were unhappy with the team’s apparent attempt to ‘out muscle’ Cardiff, typified by Brad Watchorn picking up a match penalty after his altercation with Robert Sedlak in the second period.
It means Watchhorn will miss this weekend’s game.
So too will Callum Fowler who is again ruled out by work commitments, a situation which Parrish says "we will need to address.".
But Joe Bliss will be back in the squad after returning from holiday and Parrish planned a "serious chat" with his players during Thursday night's training session.
