Invicta Dynamos coach Kevin Parrish has been boosted by the return of two-time defenceman-of-the-year Tim Smith.
Smith (pictured), 23, left the club earlier this campaign after four seasons in Gillingham to return to his hometown of Sheffield, and played 22 games for the EPL side Steeldogs.
Now he has fulfilled his promise to return to the Mos and could line-up against Slough Jets in ENIHL Division 1 on Saturday.
Parrish said: "It’s fantastic news. He’s been like a wall for us back there and he’s exactly what we need and means we don’t have to look for another defenceman.
"It all kind of happened out of the blue. I got a text on Sunday after the game asking if he could come back or if he’d burnt his bridges.
"He looks in shape and quicker than before he left – we’re getting an even better Tim Smith.
"Tim is also a big character to have on our roster, with excellent leadership qualities.
"His drive and determination could be an important factor as we look to improve our league position before driving for the play-offs."
After hosting Slough, Mos face a cup game at Chelmsford Chieftains on Sunday night, although neither team can catch leaders Romford.
Parrish said: "Saturday is the most important game but we want to win both.
He has a fully-fit squad to choose from, with the exception of long-term absentee Michael Timms (knee), while Dan Fudger is banned from Saturday’s game.
