Invicta Dynamos have their sights firmly set on a top-three finish in ENIHL Division 1 South, despite being off the pace at the midway stage of the season.
Mos go into the festive period sitting fifth but have played six fewer games than the four sides above them.
Coach Kevin Parrish, pictured, admitted: "I have to say I think the title is gone. Romford are playing well and will be champions.
"But it is important that we get into that top three to give ourselves a better chance in the play-offs."
Dynamos endured a double header to forget last weekend. On Saturday their home game with the Cardiff ENL Devils was abandoned after 35 minutes when the Welsh side refused to continue after an arena brawl, and 24 hours later, Mos, with a number of players suspended because of what had happened the previous evening, lost 9-3 at leaders Romford Raiders.
Defenceman Adam Copland, Harrison Lillis - with his first senior strike for the club - and Justin Noble were the Invicta scorers.
Parrish said: "I have to say that Sunday was a disgrace. I would love to be able to afford to refund the supporters who travelled up there. We let them down."
Parrish said he expects a verdict from league officials on the abandoned game after Christmas.
