Invicta Dynamos’ poor end to the ENIHL Division 1 South season continued with a defeat and a draw at the weekend.
A depleted Dynamos lost 8-7 at home to second-bottom Bristol Pitbulls on Sunday, failing to build on Saturday’s comeback point against Milton Keynes, where they were 5-1 down in the final period only to snatch a point with four goals in the remaining seven minutes.
Mos took on Bristol without netminders Joe White, Andy Moffat and Andrew Dickson, while Chris Borges, Callum Fowler and Andy Smith were also absent and it showed as Invicta soon found themselves 2-0 down.
Tim Smith, pictured, and Liam Chong levelled matters, but Bristol always had the upper hand and further strikes by Daniel Borges (3), Chong and Michael Timms proved in vain.
Against Milton Keynes, Daniel Borges’ goal made little impression with Mos already trailing 4-0 in the final period, and defeat looked certain when Maros Stefanco gave the hosts a 5-1 advantage.
However, Karl Lennon began the fightback and Chong reduced the arrears to two. With only four minutes remaining Tim Smith gave Mos hope before Adam Copland’s dramatic equaliser with two minutes left.
