Invicta Dynamos head coach Kevin Parrish has brought his fourth 'new face' of the summer to Gillingham in the shape of Arran Strawson from the Wightlink Raiders.
The 25-year-old Yorkshireman, who can play in defence or attack, scored 38 points in his 36 league appearances for the Raiders after joining them from the Sheffield Steeldogs where he was a team-mate of two of Dynamos' current squad, Peter Vaisanen and Nicky Lewis.
"We have come up against Arran on a number of occasions and I have been impressed by him every time," Parrish said. "He is a real battler and a player that does not know how to quit. He’s the sort of guy that, when the chips are down, you’d want him on your side."
Parrish added that Strawson would spent most of his time as part of the Dynamos' rearguard, saying: "Arran’s natural position is on the blue line and it’s here that I see him playing an important role for us.
"However, he has been used as a forward by his previous clubs and, given the number of injuries we had to deal with last season, it’s good to have another versatile player on the books."
