Invicta Dynamos opened their English National Ice Hockey League Southern Cup campaign with a 10-5 defeat at the hands of Romford Raiders on Sunday.
The in-form Raiders, leaders of South Division 1, were always in charge against a Dynamos side who slumped to their biggest home defeat since December 2007.
Romford led 2-1 at the end of the first period through Danny Marshall and Juraj Huska, with Canadian Ryan Ellis scoring the Invicta goal.
The Raiders extended their lead to 5-3 after the second period through Marshall, Andrius Kaminskas and JJ McGrath, with the Dynamos goals coming from Richard Bentham and Justin Noble.
Romford virtually killed the game off with three quick goals early in the final period through Anthony Leone, JJ Pitchley and Billy Phillip.
Dynamos stemmed the flow with a strike from Corey Watkins, Marshall made it 9-4 with his hat-trick goal, Ellis replied for Dynamos before Kaminskas completed their misery with Romford's 10th goal.
