Speculation is mounting that a Halling resident has won £1million on the lottery.
The winning ticket is thought to have been bought at the Lower Halling Post Office.
It is believed the ticket was either a scratchcard or part of the Millionaire Raffle, which Euromillions contestants are entered into automatically.
Rumours were rife among customers at the New Bell Inn, just 200 yards from the post office in High Street, Halling.
Landlady Sam Walsh, 22, said: "A lot of people in the pub are talking about it, but no one knows who the winner was. I've been trying to get it out of everyone!"
The lucky resident of the village, which has fewer than 3,000 inhabitants, could keep the prize private by refusing to sign a publicity form with lottery bosses.
Both the post office manager and a spokesman for lottery operator Camelot refused to comment.
