Embarrassed council staff were forced to make last-minute changes to a vital document after a disgraced former officer was listed as a recommended contact.
Medway council is to publish a guide for developers that will demand more than £10,000 from them for every house they build in the district and listed Dean Waller as a strategic manager and point of contact on any issue relating to schools and children.
But the former pupil services manager, from Tunbridge Wells, is currently serving a 12-month prison sentence after pleading guilty to 10 child porn charges.
The mistake was spotted by Cllr Roy Hunter (Con) during a review of the draft proposals. Its author, council assistant director Stephen Gaimster, said: "I'll certainly get that changed."
Once it is adopted, the guide it will become the chief negotiating tool to get developers to contribute to the extra costs they bring to the community, and will cover play areas, transport, libraries, waste, health and schooling.
Medway is thought to be among the first councils in the south east to propose such a scale of charges.
