A Medway actor is set to appear in a romantic comedy produced by an award-winning singer.
Kayne Lee Harrison will star Alicia Keys' unnamed-Netflix film, which is due to be released sometime this Summer.
The feature centres around aspiring pop star, Erica, who ends up as the entertainment at her ex-fiancé's wedding after taking a gig at an island resort while in the wake of a music career meltdown.
Kayne's character is currently being kept under wraps – but he does play a "key role" in Erica's journey.
The 31-year-old said: "Being given the opportunity to work on a Netflix production that is produced by Alicia Keys is of course a great privilege and I have created so many lasting memories.
"It isn't every day you get given a script produced by an award-winning Grammy artist, so to say I had to rub my eyes in disbelief is putting it lightly.
"The fact that all the producers trusted me to deliver the performance needed for this character means so much."
He will star alongside Christina Milian, who voiced the character of Esther in hit-US comedy Family Guy, whilst working under director Steven Tsuchida, who directed two episodes of Netflix's popular Karate Kid follow-on series, Cobra Kai.
Kayne has worked in TV adverts, short films and voiceovers, including a presenting role with Ant and Dec and David Walliams for the NSPCC, but this is his first break in a major production.
He said: "When I got the call to say that it was not only an Alicia Keys produced film but a Netflix production, the excitement and nerves hit me.
"Netflix has millions and millions of subscribers globally and this particular production has world famous American talents at the top of their game, so to be invited from the UK to share the screen with them is beyond a privilege.
"This film features a strong cast of outstanding black talent and it was a joy to work alongside them in creating work that will hopefully entertain audiences globally.
"Not to mention filming on the paradise island of Mauritius, if you have never been I highly recommend – it is beyond stunning and the people are amazing."
Kayne hopes to one day work alongside some of his inspirations in the film industry, such as Tom Hardy and Luke Evans.
He added: "It's all about the work - does the project interest and excite me creatively?
"I have a long list of people I would like to work with because their work has inspired me.
"Working with visionary directors of that calibre is a once in a lifetime opportunity that any actor dreams of."
"Also, working with outstanding directors is a way to push and challenge myself creatively, look at the work from Guy Ritchie or Christopher Nolan, working with visionary directors of that calibre is a once in a lifetime opportunity that any actor dreams of."
Full details and pictures of the film are yet to be released.
