Invicta Dynamos head coach Kevin Parrish has revealed he decided against quitting the club this off-season as he did not want to leave on a low note.

Invicta endured a tough season, finishing down the ENIHL Division 1 South standings and then exiting the play-offs in the semi-final at the hands of Romford Raiders to finish the season trophy-less for the second straight year.

Parrish said: "I had been thinking about my future for a number of reasons, but since the season I’ve sat down with some people at the club.

"I didn’t want to leave it like that. I don’t want to finish my time here with a season like that. When I go, I want to go out as a winner, so I’m going to keep going until we win something."

He revealed: "We’ve got some new ideas about how we are going to move forward and I am excited about it.

"I’d like to think the new ideas were generated to try and convince me to stay and work towards the future.

"It means I can concentrate on getting the players out there for games and not counting how many people have come through the door."

Parrish wasted no time in getting down to work on assembling a squad capable of challenging for Division 1 honours next season.

His first capture is the return of 23-year-old defenceman Tim Smith for his sixth year.

After joining as an 18-year-old in 2007-08, Smith (pictured) was on the roster last year but returned to his home in Sheffield in October for personal reasons.

Smith has made 165 Mos appearances and won the Defenceman-of-the-Year award for 2010-11.
