Chatham Town boss Kevin Watson conceded his team were "outclassed" in Tuesday’s 6-1 Kent Senior Cup defeat by Ebbsfleet at Stonebridge Road.

Fleet were expected to field a young side in the second round tie but boss Liam Daish included eight senior players.

Chats trailed 4-0 at the break before Lloyd Blackman pulled one back early in the second half.

It proved only a short respite as the Blue Square Bet Premier side netted two more and eased into the quarter-finals.

Watson(pictured) said: "They were a good side and we were outclassed. A 20-minute spell in the first half did the damage."

He confirmed that striker Alwayne Jones has returned to Tonbridge Angels after a short spell at Maidstone Road.

Striker Adam Marsh picked up a knock which makes him a doubt for the Ryman League, Division 1 North trip to third bottom Great Wakering Rovers on Saturday, with Blackman also ruled out because of a one-match ban after picking up five bookings.

Defender Kes Metitri is also facing a two match lay-off after being sent-off last week and also picking up five cautions.

Chatham will be looking to improve on their poor run in the league, which has seen them drop to 13th in the table.
