Kevin Watson admits he would be more worried about Chatham’s dip in form if his side were playing badly.
They will be looking to end a run of four successive defeats, when they travel to mid-table Ryman League, Division 1 North side Potters Bar on Saturday.
Player-boss Watson, who gave his players a night off training on Tuesday, said: "I would be more concerned if we were not playing well regularly but we have only had one poor perfromance against Romford.
"The boys have had a lot of games recently and giving them a night off allowed us to re-charge the batteries, before focusing on the games ahead and putting a few things in place."
The losing run is the first real test for new boss Watson but he says it’s too early to think about changing personnel.
"I don’t think there is a need to do anything drastic at the moment," he said.
Watson will check on the fitness of injured striker Rob Denness, troubled by a foot injury before the trip to Hertfordshire, while keeper Tony Kessell (pictured) is the club’s only other injured absentee, nursing a thigh problem.
Two early exits from both the FA Cup and FA Trophy have hit Chatham’s
coffers and means a slight change in their fixture
list.
They will now be at home to Heybridge on Saturday week.
