Chatham boss Kevin Watson admits it’s unlikely he’ll be able to bring in the additional firepower he needs ahead of a weekend visit of unbeaten Potters Bar.
A midweek Ryman League Cup defeat at home to Harrow highlighted the team’s lack of cutting edge but Watson admits bringing in fresh blood is not straightforward.
He said: "We’ve got a couple of players on the shopping list and it’s just about making sure terms are right for us and for them.
"We’ve approached some people but we haven’t got unlimited resources and are trying to attract players from Kent, yet half of our games are in Essex and that does make it difficult. We would like to get someone in by the weekend but time is running out."
Among those Watson (pictured) took a look at was defender Lewis Hamill but he limped off injured.
Matt Solly (ankle) is set to return to the Chatham squad tomorrow (Saturday) against a Potters Bar team who sit second in the Division 1 North.
Watson added: "It doesn’t matter if we are playing the team at the top or the bottom. It’s about us and about how we apply ourselves."
