We have some finger-lickin' news to serve up today.
KFC has opened a new diner at Horsted Retail Park on the former Toys R Us site in Chatham.
It’s been a long time coming but the Colonel has arrived in town, with a brand new restaurant which has created 30 jobs for the area.
Work started on the American fast food chain eatery last August and it had been planned to open in March until lockdown was introduced.
Orders for the nation's favourite fried chicken are available for takeaway and delivery now.
The restaurant will be open from 10.30am to 11pm for those looking to get their KFC fix.
A number of safety measures have been put in place, including extended hygiene procedures, Perspex screens, gloves, designated kitchen zones, face masks have been made available where required and contactless payment is encouraged.
Darren Marsh, area coach at KFC, said: “This has been a long time coming and it’s great to be granting the people of Chatham’s wishes by bringing the Colonel to town."
The opening comes the same day non-essential shops have opened across the country.
Hundreds of people have headed to their favourite shops with long queues outside Primark and Sports Direct stores across Kent.
