A fast food giant is set to open a new branch in Kent.
KFC has confirmed it is to open a restaurant at Moto Medway Services on the M2, between Junction 4 for Gillingham and Junction 5 at Sittingbourne.
A spokesman for the business said: “The rumours are true – the Colonel is coming to town this autumn, bringing over 20 new jobs to the area.
“We know we’ve got lots of KFC fans in Rainham - and we love the area too.
“We’re busy getting our chicks in a row, but we can’t wait to settle in and bring our famously delicious fried chicken.
“Our shiny new coop will offer locals dine-in, takeaway, delivery and click and collect from Moto Medway.”
They have already began recruiting staff for jobs at the site.
Positions for a cook have been advertised for the "new store opening".
The recruitment ad says: "As a cook, you will be responsible for preparing the infamous KFC chicken and cooking it, supporting the middle and front of house and ensuring high standards and speedy delivery across our varied menu to our customers.
"Being a motorway services area means some of our sites will have either limited, or no access through public transport, so please ensure to check that you are able to access the site before applying."
The services already has a Burger King, Costa and Travelodge.
There are also five other branches of KFC in Medway – two in both Chatham and Gillingham and another in Strood.
KFC, founded by entrepreneur Colonel Sanders, opened its first store in Salt Lake City in the United States in 1952.
However it didn't appear on UK soil until more than 10 years later when it opened a branch in Preston, Lancashire in May 1965.
It comes just three weeks after McDonald’s revealed it intends to open another branch in Medway.
Plans have been submitted for new signs for the chain on a unit at Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre, near Gillingham.
