Children tearing around hospital wards in super cars would normally be frowned upon but not last week.
A mini Tesla was presented to Medway Maritime’s Dolphin Ward on Tuesday by Amay Mangal, whose family run three pharmacies in the Towns and is a member of the Tesla Owner’s Group.
Four-year-old Harry was first to take it for a spin.
He is being treated for a brain abscess and needs to visit the children’s ward for blood tests.
Mum Louise said: “Harry didn’t want to stay here this morning but now he’s tried out the car, he doesn’t want to leave.
“This will make a massive difference during his visits.”
The fun didn’t stop there though as Mr Mangal had also filled the car’s bonnet with Oreos.
He said: “Being here to see how well it has been received has been absolutely lovely.”
Children will be able to drive the Tesla to surgery.
Charity and fundraising manager Donna Law said: “It’s put a real smile on youngsters’ faces.”
