MICHAEL STONE, who was convicted of murdering Lin and Megan Russell, is opposing the publication of details about his mental health treatment.
Stone, from Gillingham, is serving three life sentences for the killings in Chillenden, near Canterbury in 1996. He was also convicted of the attempted murder of Lin’s elder daughter Josie, who is now 18.
An independent report has been produced into the care he received from social services, probation and healthcare agencies prior to the murders.
Stone’s solicitors are now seeking a judicial review of the decision to publish the report.
A statement has been issued by Kent Social Services, Kent and Medway Strategic Health Authority and Kent Probation Service.
It says: "Michael Stone says that while he welcomes the publication of the report’s findings he objects to the publication of confidential health and social care information contained in the full report."
Stone’s solicitors will issue proceedings this week and the case is likely to be heard in the New Year.
