Drivers were lucky to escape without serious injury after a crash involving three cars on the M2 just after 12.30pm this afternoon.

One car left the road while others blocked lanes on the London-bound carriageway between Junctions 1 and 2 near Strood.

Drivers faced delays and police closed one lane while the vehicles were recovered.

Kent Special Constabulary tweeted the crash happened when one of the vehicles was changing lanes.

No serious injuries were reported.
