The roof of a home burst into flames after being struck by lightning.
Fire crews were called to a small fire at a three storey property in Rotary Gardens, Gillingham yesterday.
It started in the loft space and crews arrived shortly after 5.30pm.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus put out the flames using a high-pressure hose.
There are no reports of any injuries.
It is believed to have started after a lightning strike during yesterday's thunderstorms.
Crews also dealt with flash flooding that swept across parts of the county.
There were dozens of reports of surface water flooding affecting several homes in Swanley and firefighters also pumped water out of an NHS property in Maidstone.
Elsewhere, crews and volunteers were sent to assist people stranded by floods to their properties in Yalding.
A road was also closed by firefighters in West Malling after a tree also fell down affecting a telegraph pole.
