A young girl got her finger stuck in gym exercise equipment at a play park.

The 11-year-old had been playing at the park in Canal Road, Strood, when she somehow got her finger stuck between to bits of metal on the exercise machine.

A crew from Hoo fire station were called out to help free the girl at about 7.50pm last night (Monday) and used levers and crow bars to free the girl’s finger which had been crushed during the incident.

A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service, said: “The tools were used to lever the metal apart and the girl was very brave.

“We left her in the care of the ambulance crews.”
