Crash on M2 bridge between junction 2 for Strood and junction 3 for Chatham causes delays

A crash involving at least three vehicles caused long delays on the M2 this evening.

The pile-up happened on the bridge between junction 2 for Strood and junction 3 for Chatham just before 5.30pm.

Two lanes were closed on the coast-bound side and queues stretched back to the A2.

Police, ambulance and fire crews were called.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at 5.25pm on 4 August to reports of at least three vehicles involved in a collision on the M2 coastbound carriageway between junction two and three.

"Officers and KFRS are at the scene. At least one man is reported to be injured but it is not described as life-threatening."

All lanes were open by about 6.15pm.
