Lordswood scored 15 runs in the last over to win a nail-biting clash against The Mote off the final ball on Saturday.

The Medway club secured their third win in four games with a three-wicket victory at Martyn Grove to leap-frog the Maidstone side at the head of the Shepherd Neame Kent Cricket League Division 1 table.

Lordswood won the toss and put the visitors in, only to toil in the field, as The Mote scored 226-4 from their 50 overs.

However, Chris Thompson scored 96 – just five short of his highest ever score – while Darren Scott, pictured right, added a useful 35 to put the home side in sight of victory before they reached their target from the final delivery.
