A crash between a car and a lorry blocked a busy road this afternoon.

The crash happened on the A278 Hoath Way in Gillingham, near to the Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre roundabout, at about 2pm.

Traffic reports said the road was blocked in both directions and drivers were advised to find another route to join the motorway at Gillingham.

A police spokesman said: “Kent Police was called at 2.15pm on Tuesday June 13, 2017 to a collision involving a lorry and a car on Hoath Way, Gillingham.

“Police officers went to the scene where a woman was checked by South East Coast Ambulance Service staff as a precaution.”
