Motorists have been delayed on the M2 this morning after a lorry overturned on the coastbound carriageway.

It happened at 9am on the slip road to junction five for Maidstone and Sheerness. Kent Highways said the incident had blocked access to the Stockbury roundabout from the motorway.

The driver was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital, Gillingham, but is not thought have suffered serious injuries.

Motorists were advised to use the A2 as an alternative route.
