Plans that would drastically change the face of a rural area are due to be considered in the next eight weeks.
The Attwood farming family wants to build 450 homes at Gibraltar Farm, Hempstead, as well as create 800 new homes in nearby East Hill.
Both areas are in Capstone Valley, and concern land off North Dane Way, Lordswood, close to Capstone Farm Country Park.

The Attwoods have been trying to develop land in Capstone Valley since 2014.
Under the plans, Gibraltar Farm would also have new roads, cycle and pedestrian paths, a nursery and retail space.
In March 2017, the Secretary of State for Communities James Brokenshire made the decision that any environmental harm that would be caused by the development was outweighed by the significant economic and social benefits of providing much-needed housing.
This overturned a decision made by the council to reject the proposal, but the development was halted because Medway Council refused to sell a piece of land it owns which would have provided the main access.
In February this year, the Attwoods submitted a planning application with alternative access. Under the new plans there would be two new access routes off Ham Lane, 500m from the junction with Lidsing Road.
In a separate application, plans for the construction of 800 dwellings on land at East Hill also include a primary school, GP surgery and retail space, as well as associated roads and open space.
There would be an associated road link between North Dane Way and Pear Tree Lane.
KMTV's Isabelle Miller reported on the plans when they were put back in the agenda earlier this year
This application has attracted more than 300 comments on the council's online planning portal since it was received on Friday, March 22.
The planning committee is expected to make a decision by the end of June regarding Gibraltar Farm, and by the end of July for the land at East Hill.
