Man charged after huge police response in Balmoral Road near Gillingham Railway Station

A man who is accused of acting in an aggressive and threatening manner has appeared in court.

Police were called to Balmoral Road near Gillingham Railway Station at around 1pm on Friday, January 24.

A man was arrested on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence and possession of a bladed article.

Police say they found a razor blade and a class B drug.

The following day, Danny Lorenston, of Bluebell Close, Gillingham, was charged with the two offences.

The 44-year-old appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday, January 27 and was remanded in custody to appear before the same court on Monday, February 17.
