A man has appeared in court accused of two counts of attempted murder after two men were allegedly attacked and stabbed with a large knife in the centre of Rochester.
Police descended on the town’s high street at its junction with Star Hill at about 9.30am on Friday.
Dealdi Ramadan Sadiq, 19, was flown to a London hospital with serious injuries and was treated for a stab wound. Police say he is now in a stable condition.
Another man, Haval Wehab, suffered minor injuries during the assault at about 9.30am on Friday.
Cyrese Moses, 20, was arrested at the scene and taken into custody. He was charged on Saturday with two counts of attempted murder in relation to the incident.
Moses was also charged with possessing a bladed article in a public place and possessing an offensive weapon in public, namely a machete and a brick.
Moses, of Westway in Caterham, Surrey, was kept in police custody over the weekend and appeared before District Judge Stephen Leake at in Medway Magistrates this morning where he was further remanded in custody to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on June 12.
Moses did not enter any pleas in relation to the charges.
A police spokesman said: “Investigators are continuing to appeal for witnesses or anybody with information to call the appeal line.
“They would especially like to hear from anyone who travelled past the area between 9.15am and 9.45am who may have dashcam footage of the incident or those involved.”
