Police were spotted at an incident in Strood High Street earlier today.

Officers arrested a 44-year-old man on suspicion of assault at 11.05am.

The man is alleged to have pushed the victim over.

He remains in custody.

Social media reports suggested a man had been stabbed but police have confirmed this was not the case.
