A man has been arrested on suspicion of arson following a fire in a block of flats.

Fire crews were called to Gun Lane, Strood, just before 12.45pm yesterday, and firefighters extinguished a small fire in the living room of a flat.

Ambulance crews and police also attended the scene and officers arrested a 51-year-old man on suspicion of arson.

He remains in custody as inquiries continue.
