Police were called to Chatham earlier today after reports of a man with a carving knife.

Officers were called to Luton Arches around 1.45pm.

A spokesman for Kent Police said: “A 24-year-old man from Chatham has been arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of a bladed article.”

Witnesses reported seeing multiple police cars in the area near Chatham Hill and said traffic was moving slowly.
