A man will appear in court accused of carrying out a stabbing in an Asda car park - leaving the victim seriously injured.

Police were called to the store in Strood on Saturday evening after a man suffered a stab wound.

Officers investigating the incident arrested two men in St Martin's Hill in Canterbury yesterday.

George Oladosu, 27, of Melville Court, Chatham has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent.

He was remanded in custody and will appear at Maidstone Crown Court on December 9.

A man in his 20s also arrested alongside Oladosu in Canterbury has been released pending further inquiries. He was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

The victim was shopping at the High Street store at about 8.30pm on Saturday when the incident happened.

He was taken to a London hospital and has since been discharged.

Police appealed for witnesses on Sunday after initial inquiries established a man had reportedly been aggressively approached.

It was said a black man had followed the victim into the car park where the attack took place.
