A man has been charged with drug offences following a police operation at Chatham Railway Station.
Officers from Kent Police carried out a joint operation with British Transport Police on yesterday at the station as part of a national operation to crackdown on knife crime.
During the initiative, a man was arrested after attempting to run away when he saw the officers.
Police searched him and allegedly found 22g of uncut heroin.
Searches carried out later at his home address apparently revealed a large quantity of cash.
Tunmi Osifeso, 22, of Albany Road, Chatham, was charged with possession with intent to supply and possession of criminal property.
He appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on today and was bailed to appear before Maidstone Crown Court on Thursday, August 17.
As part of the operation officers also searched a man in nearby Ordnance Street, where two bags of cannabis was found on him. He was later given a warning by police.
