A man has been charged with murder after officers found a woman dead at her home.

Police were called to Richmond Road in Gillingham on Thursday afternoon where they found the body of a woman, aged 39.

Flowers were laid at the scene paying tribute to the victim, called Kelly.

Officers arrested Benjamin Bowler, 40, of Richmond Road, that evening.

Today he was charged with murder and has been remanded in custody to appear at Medway Magistrates' Court tomorrow.

Officers say the victim and suspect were known to each other.
