A man is due in court charged with robbery after a Gillingham newsagent's was raided.

Adam Walder, 32, formerly of London Road, Sittingbourne, was questioned after police were called to P&B Newsagents in Gillingham Road at 1.45pm on Sunday.

Walder was arrested in Barnsole Road, Gillingham and charged the next day.

He was also charged with a theft said to have happened on March 2 and a robbery at a shop in High Street, Gillingham on February 18.

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear at court at a later date.
