A man was cut from his car and taken to hospital after a collision in Strood on Wednesday evening.
The 40-year-old man suffered back injuries after two cars crashed at the junction of London Road and Cuxton Road at 6.30pm.
Emergency services including firefighters, ambulance crews and police attended the scene.
Firefighters rescued a 40-year-old man from a silver Vauxhall Astra estate by removing the roof.
The driver, who had recently had a back operation, was carried out on a spinal board as a precautionary measure.
He was taken to King’s College Hospital, in London, for treatment.
The second man, driving a silver Nissan Micra, was able to get out of his car and was checked by paramedics on the scene.
Police closed the road while the vehicles were recovered. It was reopened by 9.30pm.
