A police car was involved in a crash with another vehicle after a pursuit.

Officers attempted to stop a vehicle in Alma Place in Strood at 5.15pm, but the driver made off before being brought to a controlled stop in Castle View Road.

A man left the scene on foot and a search for him was carried out with assistance from the National Police Air Service helicopter.

Police say he was not located and inquiries are ongoing.
