A man has been found safe and well after being reported missing yesterday (Tuesday) evening.
The 66-year-old, from Cliffe, was reported missing by his wife.
In the early hours of today (Wednesday) a police helicopter and Gravesend's RNLI crew searched Cliffe Marshes for three-and-a-half hours unsuccesfully for him.
At about 5.30am Medway coastguards with the Sea King search and rescue helicopter, from RAF Wattisham, joined the search.
The man was found by coastguards walking near the water's edge close to his home in Cliffe at about 7.30am.
Richard Rodgers, deputy station officer for Medway Coastguard said: "With the assistance of a local farmer we were able to get to the casualty who was in warm clothes and good health.
"I think he was a bit embarassed by it all but obviously his wife was concerned and that is what we are trained to do."
