Two men charged with drug offences following police searches in Chatham and Strood

Police seized seven bags of synthetic street drug spice after stopping a man in a high street.

Investigators detained the suspect in Chatham for a search last Monday (November 18) where they found he had multiple bags of the class B drug.

Three days later, officers searched addresses in the town and in Strood where cocaine and cannabis were recovered along with a mobile phone.

Two men were arrested and taken into custody.

John Wray, aged 45 and of Meadowbank Road, Chatham, was later charged with possessing spice with intent to supply.

Wayne Albone, who is 37, and lives in Albert Place, Strood, was also charged with being concerned in the supply of cocaine, being concerned in the supply of cannabis, possessing cocaine with intent to supply and possessing cannabis with intent to supply.

Both men appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday (November 22) and were remanded to a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on December 20.
