A man was left in hospital after being smashed in the back of the head with a brick in an unprovoked attack.
The victim was outside a betting shop in Gillingham when he was approached by another man who then assaulted him with the building block.
His attacker then ran from the scene of the altercation in the High Street, which happened at around 11.30am on March 3.
The assault happened just days before a teenager was left a "serious but stable condition" in hospital after being stabbed in the same road.
Police and forensic officers were called to the town centre on Thursday afternoon after a 17-year-old was knifed in the street outside Wilko and Sports Direct.
Police officers investigating the incident outside the betting shop have today released a CCTV image of a man who they would like to speak to over the attack.
A force spokesman said: "Kent Police was called to the report of an unprovoked assault in the High Street.
'It is alleged he then struck the victim on the back of the head with a brick and fled the scene...'
"A man seen standing in Canterbury Street walked to its junction with the High Street and approached another man.
"It is alleged he then struck the victim on the back of the head with a brick and fled the scene.
"The victim was taken to hospital and has since been discharged.
"An investigation is ongoing and officers have since released a CCTV image of a man who they believe can assist them with enquiries."
